The Wires and the Wind was created over the course of a year using many layers of acrylic, limestone, charcoal, sand, tea paper, coffee filters, coffee, pastels and pencil.
The piece reads as calm and spacious at first. Only with close looking do faint, wire-like marks appear-- drawn with charcoal from the Eaton fire--so subtle and yet impactful. Their near invisibility mirrors the power lines themselves: easily overlooked, yet capable of altering lives and land permanently.
